a snow day

The world is hushed, a blanket soft and deep,
a stillness settles, as teas steep.
The usual sounds, muffled and subdued,
a different world, a different mood.
No hurried footsteps, no insistent call,
just a stillness, enveloping all.
Comfort rises in the form of steam, from the
brew of leaves, with a touch of cream.
Wrapped in the warm embrace, hidden from the cold,
a crackling symphony, of embers bright and bold,
The air is crisp, a tingle on my nose,
as frosted branches, silently repose.
Snuggled in blankets, a haven warm and bright,
where simple pleasures, fill the heart with light.
A cozy feeling, a sense of being home,
as the world outside, quietly roams.
A gentle curtain, falling soft and slow,
transforms the landscape into a quiet glow.
Tiny flakes, littering the air,
a silent ballet, descending with care.
